1. Is ACF-50 approved by the US government?
Yes, the ACF-50 meets performance requirements established by the US government, qualified to the Mil-C-81309E, Type II Class I standard.
2. Does the ACF-50 meet other aerospace industry standards or have OEM approval?
Yes, ACF-50 meets the stringent corrosion protection requirements for several aerospace OEMs, such as AIRBUS, BOEING, DOUGLAS, among others.
3. How long has Lear been manufacturing thin film anticorrosive compounds and has ACF-50 been around?
Lear has more than 25 years of chemical manufacturing experience, and ACF-50 has been used for 14 years, with a proven track record of reliable performance among industry professionals.
4. Is ACF-50 toxic?
No, ACF-50 has undergone full toxicology testing (oral and dermal examinations) carried out by the renowned Hazelton laboratories. The results confirm that ACF-50 is non-toxic in accordance with EPA and OECD standards.
5. What does the FAA think about the ACF-50?
Although the FAA does not grant general approvals for products, it accepts the ACF-50 based on two criteria: being listed in an aircraft's maintenance manual by an OEM or meeting a military specification (Mil-Spec). ACF-50 meets both, being considered an acceptable product for preventing corrosion in aircraft (according to letter dated August 13, 1996).
6. Does ACF-50 meet United States Volatile Organic Content (VOC) requirements?
Yes, ACF-50 is compliant with VOC regulations in all 50 US states. Its VOC content is well below California's strict air quality control standards.
